Madonna Madness

Well, well, well...Madonna is having a concert and I want to go...yes...I want to go...after all...she is turning 50...it is her 50th birthday year...her 50th birthday concert tour...and it is my 50th year...and therefore...I should go...yes...I should get to go to her concert...and maybe even bring my 22 year old daughter...since I will likely not get any of my 50 year old friends to join me...no...no one wants to go to see Madonna with me...no one has Madonna Madness like me.

I've been a diehard Madonna fan for so many years...and I never knew she was born the same year I was...yes...the Material Girl will soon be fiftysomething...just like me...and she is so cool...and she is so fresh...and she is so hip...she continues to reinvent herself...year after year...oh...don't you just love Madonna.

When I found out that the Material Girl...yes...the Material Girl was having a concert tour after she turns 50 in August...that was it..."I have to get tickets...I have to go," I said to myself last week.  I went directly to Madonna.com to find out if she was going to be in the Philadelphia area...and guess what...guess what...yes...yes...yes...her tour is not only passing through Philadelphia... it is hitting even closer...she is also going to be in Atlantic City in November...wow...wow...wow..."I must go, I must go," I screamed.

Tickets go on sale next week...and I feel like one of my kids...I must be at my computer the minute the clock strikes 10:00 am ET...ready with my nimble fingers on the keyboard...ready to strike at a moments notice...so I can be one of the first ones to get my Madonna tickets...oh, how I wish I had signed up for the Madonna Icon Fan Club...then I would have been able to get pre-sale tickets...but the deadline for sign up was April 30th...wish someone had told me...now I will have to get in line like everyone else...maybe Ticketmaster will be copasetic for 50 year old ticket purchasers whose fingers don't move as fast as their twentysomething children.

I haven't been to a concert in years...I think the last concert I went to was when I took my kids to see N'Sync...I remember when they were so popular...I remember we sent my husband to stand in line the day the tickets went on sale (or did I go...my 50 year old brain cannot remember clearly when the fiftysomething forgetfulness sets in)...and then my daughter stood in line (yes...now I am remembering that awful day)...but we were triumphant...we got concert tickets after almost an hour plus wait...and we were so far up in heaven at that concert that I thought I could  almost touch the ceiling of the arena...but it was memorable...yes...it was memorable even if I had to watch Justin Timberlake dance through my binoculars the entire show.

So, wonder if Madonna will have a special song for us 50 year olds in the audience...I will have to write her at her fan club and tell her to sing a special song for all the 50 year old women who are reliving their past concert days...yes...I also want her to sing some of my favorite Madonna tunes so I can reminisce about what my life was like when I was twentysomething...hope she will sing Material Girl...and Holiday...and Like A Prayer...and one of her newer songs like Hung Up...all the songs that I used to dance to...and still exercise to today...yes when my iPod turns to Madonna...I still strike up a tune and get myself going a little bit faster on the treadmill.

So, come next week...next Monday morning, May 19th, I'm going to be at my computer...and hopefully....hopefully...there will be two tickets left for me when the clock strikes 10:00 am ET...cause this fiftysomething momma wants her Madonna tickets...and there ain't no stoppin' this material girl when she 'gets her groove on.'
